Hi using the spc900 and have been experimenting by omiting the star diagonal and attaching the webcam direct to the back of the body.

The mak has plenty of focus adjustment to cater for this and the picture seems brighter for given gain/exposure, but seems a little smaller.

I'm just wondering if this is ok as im moving the mirror a lot further to focus. would this cause any problems? Also is the image smaller and brighter because im shortening the focal length?

I guess the real question is am i better off using the diagonal or direct to back of telescope?

Tim.
