Sky-Watcher Alt-Az Goto Current Draw

Does anyone know how much current the Sky-Watcher Alt-Az mount (as used for the 127 Mak) draws? I'm thinking of replacing the battery pack with a gel battery and charger and don't want to get something too small (or too big).

The manual states that AZ-goto mount requires a psu with a minimum of 1 amp.
