slipping cog wheels on the heq5 upgrade

Hi has anyone come across slipping cogs on the dec of the heq5 upgrade, can be sorted by adjustment, but is there a fix someone knows of at all. Thanks, terry

Are you sure its well balanced? If not the steppers can skip which sounds like slipping cogs. Don't let it do it a lot as the cogs will wear and mess it all up totally. Also are you sure that the grub screws are tight, as they too can slip.

Hi Captain, I was running the goto without any weight on the mount, just as a trial, the grubs are tight but what I have noticed is one grub on each cog sits a little proud of the cog itself forcing the black protective cover on the mount (the one with six screws) to move, as if the cogs are forcing it up and down on each turn. I have noticed, but this maybe how its supposed to be, that the middle cogs on each motor (the medium sized ones) are not tight, should there be play on these at all, its not a great deal, but there is play.

All the teeth are in place and there are no signs of wear and tear, just wondering if they make steel cogs instead of brass? thanks

You can adjust the idler cogs for free play by loosening some allen key type little screws. If you get stuck I'll try to Google you a picture.
