Jupiter - help with Gimp

Hi Everyone, I stuffed my ankle last Sat so have missed most of this fablious clear week however, with the help of family on Friday we had an evening out and it was great!

First run at jupiter at about 10pm didn't give me anything great but we waited up to see Orion (first time i have seen it - wow) so i had another run from 2.15am and i guess the atmosphere had settled down.

I think each time I run I am improving but I would dearly love some post registax processing pointers.

Please could people advise what they do in Gimp (the program i have) to planets from here.

f5 300 dob, x3 barlow + extension tube (approx x4.5).
