Ah, winters coming!

Hi All,

left the scope set up for some early morning viewing. Went back out a 4am for two objects, M42 and Jupiter.

Spent a good 2 hours on M42 until the morning light redirected my attention to Jupiter.

It is my first view of M42 this season and it got me all exited, for M42 always heralds the arrival of my favourite season…Winter!

I love Jupiter as the night fades and the light arrives, it takes away some of the planets glare and although there is a slight drop in contrast it brings out other aspects of the view.

I am more than usually exited by this winters onset as I am awaiting my one and only crimbo present, a nebula filter especially for my favourite object M42!
