EQ5 RA Clutch Warning

Just a heads up for anyone with an EQ5 Pro GOTO mount.

Careful how tight you do the RA clutch up, the other day I probably over tightened it. I didn’t notice until slewing the scope that the end of the clutch was too far down towards the plastic motor box and it caught.

Luckily their doesn’t seem to be any damage other than a dent in the plastic casing but the motors did make a horrible noise for 5 seconds or so until it snagged free.

So to avoid the same problem just make sure there is a little clearance between the clutch and motor box when tightened

Hi Dan.

I found the same problem after doing the conversion on mine.

You can undo the lever and move it round so this problem cannot occur.
