synscan goto az mount

Has anyone experimented with a synscan goto az mount with different tubes ,because they recommend a maximum size of amongst others the startravel 102,I have the startravel 120 so could this be too heavy for this particular mount.libra.

I've had one and I wouldn't even think about putting an ST120 on it.

I put a Megrez 72mm on it and it was way overweight. The mount didn't cope at all.

It's really only for the lighter ota's so I wouldn't go over the suggested weight and try to stay well under the maximum

is this the same mount as takes the 127 mak ?

stick a 5 kilo bag of sand on the leg spreaders ,works a treat

I found stability wasn't the issue - my issue was slewing and tracking - it put too much strain on the motors - and it wouldn't balance up properly anyway

yes kim is right it would be too much for the motors , if i remeber right my sw 127 mak ota was just under 4 kilos , i belive this is the heaviest tube on this mount , the bag of sand helped at this weight !!
