Which scope

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Wanting to combine photography with stargazing and deciding to

go for a 6" or 8" if my budget was around the £900 mark

would this figure get me the kit needed to hook up to my canon

dslr.

I do realise the old saying horses for courses, its just the groundwork that I,ve been doing has opened up my eyes to the cost of some of the equipment needed to enable me to do this.

I,ve got my eye on this : Startravel 150 EQ5 6" f/750 Refractor

any help would be very appreciated.

Thankyou Alan.

Honestly not a good idea at all. It is an achromat with nothing like the colour correction needed for deep sky imaging.

Before buying anything I'd check out Making Every Photon Count by Steve Richards. You need an overview of what imaging involves and it starts with the mount, not the scope. A small apochromatic refractor like the ED80 would give vastly better picures.
