andromeda with 400d and 250mm zoom

is it possible to image andromeda and other similar larger dso's just using the dslr with a zoom lens at 250mm, mounted on a tracking polar aligned mount?

will it give a decent size image ? has anyoien done this and got some results to show me

Absolutely....

There a thread with M31 with a 200mm in the imaging section ...

Its also a very nice FL for NGC7000+ IC5070,, The Veil Complex, IC1396 And Orions Sword...

i think if you were using a 250mm lens it wouldnt fit on the chip you probaly getter better results with a nifty fifty

Sorry I beg to differ M31 is a pretty insignificant smudge with a 50mm...

right then its settled, sod trying to get it with the telescope and dslr, il just use the lens! now for those clouds to do one...

(il just add that i know this is an imaging question BUT usually theres 20+ people viewing the begginers forum and onl;y a handful in imaging, so it seems reasonable to post a thread here and hoepfully get more replies ) ((im still a learner anyway ))
