Seeing as Celestron and SkyWatcher are mostly thinly rebranded offerings from Synta, would it be possible to use a NexStar hand controller on a HEQ5 Syntrek?

I don't know for sure but I doubt they would be compatible. The thing to watch is that is quite easy to fry your HEQ5 circuits by plugging in the wrong stuff.

Thanks. I'd never dream of trying it myself - I was hoping someone else was reckless enough to do it for me!

But I can sell the NexStar and use the extra cash to buy a HEQ5 Pro instead of a Syntrek - a smarter plan, perhaps.
