I bought a webcam off the back of the Stargazing Live programmes and had similar issues to you, nothing would come into focus. After much fiddling I discovered that the cheapo reflector I was using didn't have enough "back focus". Was a good excuse to upgrade to a more competent scope but at the time was a real pain in the ****

DoctorD - "nudge guided" - I'll have to remember that term as its both accurate and descriptive.

todd8137 - It was stacked with Registax using the best 700 frames out of about 1400. 15 fps (2 x movies - one for the moons and one for Jupiter itself). If I'm honest though I think the focus was more luck than anything else as this was from the first 2 movies I captured. Most of the subsequent movies were a tad under exposed.
