Some DSO observing (for a change)

After taking some images of Saturn last night, I spent a bit of time with the Synscan hunting out Charlie boys objects.

It's the first time in a while that I can recall it being clear ALL evening. Such evenings are few and far between these days.

Although I prefer imaging, it's good to remember what astronomy is really about from time to time.

Very enjoyable. Not too cold, a clear sky, and the Synscan behaved pretty well most of the time.

Although I didn't keep count, probably clocked up at least 30 or more of the faint and not-so-faint fuzzies, although for some reason, I couldn't pick out M51! The Anti-light pollution filter I bought at Astrofest got it's first proper outing.

It was worth buying all this kit after all.
