1st Webcam of Saturn Attempt

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have had only my second viewing session with my SW200pds and decided to try and image saturn with the phillips 900snc webcam. I wasn't holding out much hope of getting anything but i managed to capture some footage but the results are not great. I had trouble focusing, that was the main problem and couldn't get saturn to look clear at all. I have ended up with an orange blob where you can just make out the rings.

How can I improve next time I try. I don't know if this is mainly down to the atmospheric conditions, only using a 2x barlow, no UV filter in my webcam. Could someone recommend a good quality barlow lens? I have one that came with the Revelation eyepiece set.

I would be very grateful for any guidance as I badly want to improve on this first go.

Thanks

Stuart
