stacking?

hi all, i do hope this is the right section for image stacking.

as you know (or may not) i post afocal moon pics on the lunar image section, now i read a lot about "regi stax 5 or 6" so to my question.

if i took say 10 shots of the moon in quick sucsession could i then stack the pics to make a better pic, (or do i have to use my electronic e/p and lappy) and if so how do i stack? i see a lot of on line freebies for regi stax 5 but no instructions for use. or are there better stacking programmes than regi stax 5?

You can certainly stack a set of 'stills' to good effect in Registax but the best results are achieved by stacking as many frames as you can in the hope that some of them will have captured an image during good seeing, hence the advantage of taking an AVI movie.
