Condensation on eyepieces!!

Afternoon all!

No i know this (hopefully) shouldn't be to a problem for too much longer with the evenings getting warmer, but i personally have issues at the moment with my eyepieces dewing up or getting condensation from my eye when observing! Even my long eye relief panoptics!

Now i've just started sketching and it is rather annoying so was wondering if anyone has any tips to prevent this happening??

Thanks

Adam

Hi Adam. This is a problem I've had at times. One solution is to keep

eyepieces in a plastic bag in your pocket before use, to stop them getting

too cold and more prone to dewing. But of course they have to come out

to use. I'm careful not to breath on them, a problem I've had at my clubs

public observing events. So I use a low power 12v dew gun, working from

a battery pack, works ok.

For more money, you can get proper heated dew bands, but I'm happy with

my 12v gun.

HTH, Ed.
