RA Drive motor on Skywatcher EQ2

Now this may seem like a daft question but.......

I have fitted an RA drive motor to my EQ2 mount and the motor seems to work ok. My question is: When the motor is running should the RA axis "T-bar" be locked or unlocked? As the DEC is not affected by the motor turning I assume this is locked? Any help appreciated!

both locked i think, you would have both locked if you were using the manual slow adjustments, so treat it the same. thats my opinion anyway! could well be wrong lol, so sorry if i am, but thats how i used mine without problems.
