What size tube rings for a ETX 125 tube?

I'm about to dismantle my ETX 125 and mount it on an EQ5. The tube is 146mm in diameter. Do I need 140mm tube rings, or 150mm? If the 150mm ones are slightly too big, can I add padding?

Rubberdised cork makes good padding...you can pick it up in sheets from model shops as its used as underlay for model railway tracks...

As I say to often in Burger King.. Go large... your 146mm is spot on as its 5 3/4" in old money give or take 0.04mm

I've been contemplating fitting a single ring with a standard 1/4" camera fixing stud but the ones available here are pricy at $96 + shipping. My concern is how much additional strain they'll put on the motors.

a well founded concern when thinking about the 125. will also increase the weight, and therefore the shakiness factor.
