White specks ?

The light of the Sun shone through the window of the room I keep my Celestron 8i and hit the front Glass lens, I think it is called the Collector plate? and I noticed minute specks of white on the glass. They seem to be on the inside or in the glass itself. Is this the effect of the sunshine on glass or do I have a problem ? The scope is only 10 months old. I tried removing the marks with Baader lens cleaner to no avail.

Maybe somebody can advise me.

They look at lot worse than they are, they won't have any effect on the views through the scope. You should never shine a torch (or the Sun) down a Newt or SCT/ Mak - it only makes you think have problems when you don't.

Thanks both of you. I do keep a cap over the opening to prevent dust so I think it is as said, Worse than it is.

Like Gaz says, they are normal and have abosultely no effect on the scope. Ignore.
