Just wondering

I was toying with, only for my own amusement, what it would be like to be able to see stars 6 months out of the year, and also wondering what the viewing conditions were like up at these places? Not that I would ever move there. Far too cold for my tastes.

I take it you're referring to the Great Lakes or Iceland/Finland latitudes?

yes places like that. I've always wondered, about those latitudes.

I do many visits to Scandanavia and I can tell you it messes with your head.

I went to Tromso for 4 days and coming out of a bar at 1am and having to put your sun glasses on is really weird.

But after a few days, it really took it out of me and that was summer time. Can't imagine how bad it would be during winter.

Yup I had the same problem with iceland.. early morning and it's daylight. I didn't have anything to put over my eyes and ended up moving into the bathroom as it was the only room without a window - slept in the bath with the duvet around me..
