  1. The 1100d is a very nice camera. I use it mostly for daylight shooting but the few times I've used it, even with only a lens, it give good results but I must admit I've only had it about 18 months and I already want an upgrade.

  5. Hi all, i am moving to Innsworth near Gloucester in a few weeks and was just wondering if anyone knows of clubs nearby or are there many other people from the area. Thanks for any help.
  6. I went with the motor and the few times i have actually got to use it i think it was well worth the money. I even used it to get a few decent pics of the moon. It is hard to decide and it does feel like a lot of money but I truely think it is well worth it. Good Luck buddy.
  7. so it takes a while to get hubble quality images lol?
  8. Hi all i am sure there are tutorials here but i cant find them. I have absolutly no idea about photography astro or regular and things like taking darks and stuff means nothing to me but seem to be quite important. Could some one please point me in the direction of some of the very helpful tutorials done by the obviously very cleaver (and handsome/pretty) people here.
  9. Hi there i live in England now but im orginally from Ards. Its nice to see there are some stargazers in Northern Ireland.
  10. Can i just ask at what point did i say i wasn't eager? I find it a little difficult to get out a lot since i have just come back from Afgan. Plus the camera can also be used in day light as well!!!
  11. that sounds like a very good idea indeed i like it and it could also work as a nice little slush fund for when i 'go away' with work.
  12. I am starting to wonder if my wife has snuck on here. I'm scared now
  13. I am thinking that might just be what i will have to do. This Astro stuff is not that cheap lol
  14. I have tried that but she usually knows how much money we have and that just get me in more trouble.
  15. I am the only one who keeps being put firmly in the dog house for buying near kit. I bought my first scope at the beginning of the year and after only 6 months and very little use (bad weather, not a lack of interest i must say) i have just bought a canon 1100D to do some AP and can anyone guess where i have ended up yet again. I am just wondering if i am alone in this?
  16. To be honest mate i didnt think that much of it. It is quite expensive but i must admit i was glad i went other wise i would always wonder what i was missing. There was no real guide or anything like that but that might just have been a problem for me and my scatter mind. There is a lot there to see and the 3D show was very good.
  17. This might sound like a really stupid question, but that has never stopped me in the past I feel I must be missing the point with these NLCs can anyone explain why so many people are taking pics of them. The pics are nice and all but are they 'special' clouds.
  18. Hi all i know this might sound a bit lazy and mega noobish but me and a mate are thinking about heading out on 24/06/11 or 25/06/11 (next friday or saturday) with my sky watching 130M and i am not sure what will be visable (if anything). Could i maybe have some suggestions about what to aim at please. Sorry if this is a bit cheeky.
  19. I dont think it is really that fair as most other hobbies can be done during the day or indoors with out destroying the night sky not to mention disrupting wildlife!
  20. Northern Ireland is only a part of Ireland in the same way Scotland and Wales are a part of England. Sorry just had to mention it
  21. Hey there i have been thinking about getting a dslr for astrophotography and for taking some good pics of my new daughter can anyone suggest a good starter one?
