  1. As a customer with an effected preorder I just want to say thank you to all at FLO. I am sure this is a very difficult and time consuming situation for you all to deal with. I certainly appreciate everything you do! (Just like many others here)

Things will get back to normal - In the mean time I am enjoying the clouds and gale force winds so it isn't like I would be in a position to use the ASIAIR anyway :D

  2. Hi Folks,

So the ASIAIR supports dew heater control however it doesn’t have RCA connections on the box which is a problem for connecting the straps!

I see over at the Facebook group there is talk that the below site can supply suitable dew heaters or converting cables if you already have the straps.

    Straps:

    Adaptor Cables:

    Hope it helps!

    Clear skies :)

  3. As a consumer just wanted to say that the example of how FLO handled this is why I will be a FLO customer for life. We all know how bad other companies in daily life are when things go wrong.

Now can I please arrange for collection of these pesky clouds you sent me? :(

    • Thanks 1
  4. I bought a 600D off MPB - Advertised "Like New" it arrived in a condition I would describe as Good. They must have missed all of the scratches and the gouge mark on the LCD. I managed to get a full refund but just give the camera a good go over when you receive it as it must have been a Friday afternoon when they quality controlled the camera I was after. They did resole the problem I am just not sure it should of occurred in the first place! :)

  5. Hi,

I have a Mac Mini (Small form PC) running Windows 10 stored in a plastic container and use Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect tot it from the iPhone / iPad / iMac.

Its been flawless so far - You just need to be on the same wireless network. I did look at these ASIair but I have a DSLR and this seems more compatible and powerful.

I wouldn't go back to using a laptop outside anymore thats for sure :)

    Good Hunting!

    Clear Skies,

    Murray

  6. Hello,

I bought Startools on Saturday and received the liscense key on Monday morning.

I couldn’t be happier and recommend it - Cost about £35 which in this hobby is nothing.

I found this tutorial on it which I have been using https://astro.ecuadors.net/processing-a-noisy-dslr-image-stack-with-startools/

There is a free unlimited time trial (You Just  can’t save the photo) so you can have a play.

Maybe one day when I am more experienced I will try Pixinsight but at this early stage the last thing I need is more reasons to get Migraines trying to work it all out. Startools couldn’t be easier and I couldn’t be happier :)

Good Luck with your decision and clear Skies!

  7. Hello everyone,

First time out with the telescope in over a year - Pesky back injury and Scottish weather.

When I noticed the clear sky I was as excited as a kid at Christmas.

M31 here we come :) Was going to try the new Ascom setup but will settle for Windows Remote Desktop. It’s nice to get the feeling in the hands and feet again!

Clear skies / enjoy the music :)

  8. Hi Everyone,

In typical Muzzy fashion I appear to have a screw not loose but missing from my Sky-Watcher 3/8” Stainless Steel Tripod.

    https://www.firstlightoptics.com/sky-watcher-mount-accessories/sky-watcher-38-stainless-steel-tripod.html

I am not feeling confident using it with the possibility of it keeling over and causing a few thousands of pounds of damage to my gear!

I contacted FLO who advised to contact the supplier but they didn’t know.

I have attached some photos of the offending missing screw.

I just wondered if anyone knew before I start buying every screw known to man on eBay!

    Thank you for you’re time.

    Clear Skies,

    Murray

  9. Hi All,

Having recently acquired a Skywatcher ED80 I am looking for a finder scope.

I am wondering if it's worth getting this in due course first. It would serve as a finder / Guidescope if / when I go down the route of guiding.

Would save having to buy another dovetail for on top of the scope and would save having to buy a finder now then replace it in future?

Not sure if being daft but thought it might be an option.

    Clear Skies,

    Murray

  10. Hi everyone,

My first telescope - Things escalated quickly when I saw FLO had a C9.25 on sale.

The AZEQ5 was borderline on the weight stability side so the AZEQ6 was purchased. Future proofing and credit card meltdown all in one :D

Handy having a workshop to take your telescope delivery into! Should have brought the forklift home though!

Spent about 45 minutes trying to balance the thing - It's all new to me.

Next time I will order the correct power cable then maybe I can actually use the thing!

    Clear Skies,

    Murray
