In total it cost me around £1170, which is cheaper than buying the complete GOTO which cost's around £1400.

Just remember FLO are offering the 12" Auto version around £935, then buy the Synscan AZ mount which is around £219 Just for the AZ Synscan handset, which will fit directly onto the Dob.

The Synscan AZ mount can sold off, I sold mine to a mate who wanted another replacement mount for his scope, due to the fact his Synscan AZ mount broke, so I sold it to him for £75, here I got more money back to get the other stuff.

Get yourself the Astroboot Shroud which costs around £50, which is worth it cos it will stop stray light from entering the tube and also it will add more protection from dust from settling on the mirror.

You don't need the G.P.S. mouse at all, cos you can get your co-ordinates from goggle maps, but if you want one anyway they cost around £99, but ease of set up is even easier and hassle free.

The adjustable legs which are furniture legs which hold upto 90Kg of total weight, cost a mere £20 for the 3 legs. But I got them in a DIY shop called TOOM. Which will not be able to get cos I live in Germany. But I'm sure you can find something similar in Homebase or BnQ.

If you try and follow the I've taken, you'll a big saving overall, However it's not easy, and cos VAT as gone up, so as the prices as well. But I'm sure if look for a decent secondhand SW 12" Auto Dob for sale, you should looking around £500-£600 price range. Then you get a fantatic scope with much better saving.

Alot of people sell the Auto Dob to get the new GOTO Dob instead, which purely

they don't realise that the AZ handset works with the Auto. So here's your chance to make bigger savings mate??

Here's my eyepiece box I've made out of scrap of wood and cost me nothing to make just little bit of DIY knowledge. Here shown is my collection of 1.25" 40mm-6.3mm plossls, Antares Spears Wailer zoom eyepiece, a few 2" panaview eyepieces and 2x Barlow, colour and light polution filters, the middle section stores my telescope maintenance kit, power leads and Astrovid Stella cam kit as well. Everything I need for a good night's observing session.

Where did you get the Synscan Handset mounting bracket from mate???

I'm looking for one but I don't want to make one, I have the Synscan bracket for the Synscan mount and tripod but I don't really what to modify it fit on my Dob. Cos it's useful to keep on the original equipment!

    If you can help please????
