    JUPITER

Jupiter and some of it's moons!! Taken with the Mighty Skywatcher 127 Maksutov, and the QHY IMG 132 E Planetary cam. Images taken at 90 seconds long, all AVI files were stacked in Registax 6 and final processed in Photoshop CS2. Many frames where between 1200-3000 frames which were stacked, and some images where used with the Celestron Ulitma APO 2x Barlow. The best image up to date as to the Jupiter extreme close-up, achieving a massive amount of detail, the sharpness and clarity was spectcular as the Mak despite is small apeture revealed incredible detail which demonstrates that if you have good seeing and the Earth's atmosphere is very steady then it's possible to achieve this level detail in smaller scopes!! This as to be the best image yet for me!!! So chuffed to bits!!

Here's my finished fully processed Narrow band image of NGC 2244 Rosette Nebula! Here I stacked the Hydrogen -alpha together with each of the Sodium 2, and Oxygen 3 stacked images. Then I've had to make layer masks, vector masks adjusted the levels and curves, Added the Guassin Blur on certain areas of the nebula and certain areas of High pass sharpening in the centre parts of the nebula, Overall 11 layers and masks and huge amount of data of 880 mb of the tiff image!! My computer was starting to blow up! Couldn't handle some of the data kept on crashing!! But I managed to pull off beautiful image which I had to convert it to a PNG which still reduce to a mere 49.3mb! Still this Narrowband processing is Ninja to do!! I everyone finally managed to have clear skies! So thought it could be an idea to test out my Narrowband filters with the QHY 9 and 115mm Triplet refractor!! And I achieved 6x 10mins in the H-Alpha, Sodium 2 and Oxygen 3. To produce a reasonable first Narrowband image of NGC 2244 Rosette Nebula ( By the way is extremely large and I've just managed to fit in the QHY9 Kodak chip!! I reckon haven't not done bad, but the Narrowband stacking, aligning and even processing is even more difficult than LRGB imaging! It's a very different ball game with this type of imaging!!

    NGC 7380

    From the album: DSO's

Taken TS 115 Triplet with 0.8x focal reducer, QHY9 Mono in LRGB with 15 x 5 mins of Luminance, and only 5 x 5 mins in each colour with 10 x darks! To produce a hastty image, I feel I need to take more subs but really happy with the results.

Taken with TS 115mm Triplet with 0.8x focal reducer, QHY 9 mono in LRBG, with 20 x 5mins in Luminance, 10x 5mins in each colour, 10 x darks! To produce a great image!

Hi folks! Last night to following morning I captured over 5 hours of M33 Pinwheel Galaxy with series of 300 secs to 600 secs of each colour filter using the LRGB filters and QHY9 Mono CCD using the mighty 80mm Lunt ED Refractor, stacked using DSS and aligned the Luminance with DSS and then final processed using Photoshop CS2 and produced this truly stunning image of this galaxy! I must admit that the resoultion is so much better than a color ccd but the trouble with LRGB imaging is very image processing hardcore! But this being my first successful LRGB image! It's truly remarkable and I'm so proud that I have achieved it. Again to final process this image took me 3 hours to do, and there still a lot of work to do! I wished to thank all the guy's from SGL! Ollyprience and John for providing some excellent advice on LRGB imaging! My techinques have come along way and still I'm learning! But just show's how much hard does exactly pay off!!!

Taken with 8" F4 Quattro, QHY8L fitted with Astronomik CLS filter, 42 subs of 5 minute exposures, 20 darks, 15 flats, 10 bais frames, stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, and final processing using Paint Shop X5 Pro to finish off the final touches!

Another close-up again, I'm still impressed that the image is still sharp!
