  1. Ok, I have a starsense camera and GPS (with the adaptor) for my EQ6R Pro. I'm having some issues with the GPS. Sometimes it shows up on the hand controller, sometimes it doesn't. But as yet it hasn't actually given the correct time and location. It's got the latest updates and I have tried it in every conceivable configuration. Is it faulty?
  2. Act, that's auto correct for you. I meant SCT . On mine the original visual back has been taken off and a moonlite focuser has been put in its place. I want to put it back to original. The 86.21mm is the very first thread on the back
  3. The act has a whopping 86.21mm diameter external thread. Any clue as to what it is in real money?
  4. Ok , I have the above telescope. At the moment it has a moonlight focuser . I would like to get it back to the original set up. Any ideas?
  5. Ive no idea, perhaps someone can shed a little light on to it, and then the possibility of removing any that maybe in it.
  6. To be fair, whats the worst that can happen? The clutches can slip, damage a bearing or break a belt perhaps. It's only going to be used for visual as 8" edge is set up for photography.
  7. I've got an EQ6R PRO for it to sit on, which I think will handle it fine. My plan is for it to sit on a pier I have just built in the garden.
  8. Is the LX200 a good scope? It's been de-forked so it's just the OTA.
  9. I have just order the synscan WiFi adapter for the EQ6R PRO. Does anyone have any experience with it?.
  10. I'm using sharpcap. (Or at least trying). I feel I've been sold a pup with the camera.
  11. Ok, first of all, nice and gentle please. How can I increase the refresh rate when I'm trying to focus/line up an item. Seems to take forever. What setting am I missing. Any help/ links would be massively helpful
  12. I'm setting up my new scope. After replacing pretty much the whole back end, I'm now setting up the finder scope. Easy enough, yes, but I want to be able to lock the adjusting bolts. From a quick measure and a bit of research I think it's 3/16 24 tpi. Does that sound about right?
  13. I know what you mean about instructions. I wanted to update my synscan handset for the GPS to work the website STILL (as far as I can tell) only have instructions for the old style handset powered by a 12v jack.
  14. The click lock looks great. Do I need to worry about focus?
  15. The click lock seems great. Do I need to worry about focus?
  16. I've just received my 8" edge. The scope itself is fine. But the thumb screws on the rear for the star diagonal/eyepiece/camera are absolute junk. Is there an upgrade?
  17. I plan to buy a new telescope. The Sky-Watcher Evostar 150 OTA seems to be pretty good. I'll predominantly use it for the moon/ planets. I already have the EQ6-R PRO so its more than capable. Is this a good choice of scope?
  18. Well if it's of any consolation, I'm having all the same issues. My EQ6-R PRO mount has a USB port, which should, according to FLO and SKY-WATCHER, be able to control the mount. After many many tutorial videos, none actually using the usb lead, I got it to move but stopped after a minute. I've noticed a lot of 'help' on here starts very in-depth, quoting lead types and plugs and what not. For a complete beginner that is just really off putting. People should remember that there was a time when you didn't know anything and what beginners need is slow precise instructions, call it an idiot guide if you must.
  19. I couldn't see it in any of the synscan menus. In the manual it doesn't mention it. Thanks any way 👍
  20. First of all, its heavy you'll certainly won't want to carry it too far. The build quality seems pretty good and it's so far no big issues. Small issue is the thread into the head from the tripod. It feels quite rough. I'm sure over time it'll clean itself but I will add a touch of lithium grease to help it. Although the plug for the head seems good quality, the cable itself feels very cheap and stiff and it seems bizarre that the only way to power it is with a car utility socket. Initial power up was ok but for whatever reason, it blew the fuse. (5A 25v glass fuse) I replaced it, but concerned about why it did it in the first place. Unlike my Ioptron mount, it doesn't seem to have a home function. I did try and connect it to my laptop, and although I had all the software loaded up and running it wasn't having it. If anyone has any hints or tips feel free to comment
  21. I've contacted them about a few other things as well, including buying other things from them. All I get is "sorry can't help" I would of bought my new mount from them, the EQ6-R PRO, but the gentleman was so disinterested I went to FLO instead.
