I honestly have never checked an image on the LCD display as i have only ever used it with APT on the laptop. Are you able to check the memory card for an image via your PC or Laptop?

Heres what i get from a Canon 450d at 150 seconds iso 800 guided.... M31 (see attachment)

some good info on setup here :
Also i used APT with mine on my laptop far easier than looking at the LCD screen.

Nice One, Thankyou.
Interested to know what you both thought about the data when processing it ? did you have thoughts like WTAF is this ? or about the same as you're used to processing ? etc, be brutal, I dont want to spend years trying to process stuff that Trevor AstroBackyard wouldn't be able to get anything from 🤦♂️
I didnt think it was to bad,but to be fair i ve only been doing this since August last year so i dont think im the best judge of your data. But i think the Moon is the biggest problem, after stacking it looked really washed out i used PS and LR to get to the image above, im currently messing with Startools i had ago in that but was a struggle still got lots to learn myself.

@kens thanks for chiming in there my knowledge on this is very limited at the mo, also if I'm not mistaken the gpusb shouldn't be wired in to anything I thought it was a plug and play device so to speak male usb one end and ST4 port on the box

My apologies just re-read your first post I was thinking eq3-2 for some reason, gpusb is your interface to connect laptop to autoguide port on the mount I would think for phd2 to do guide corrections. I may well be wrong I'm pretty new to fiddling with mounts myself.

On further study, if I cut the plug off the crossover adapter and wire it into the handset this would give me a ST4 port. I could then buy a ST4 to usb cable to connect to PC.
I am confused as to what the GPUSB connection to PC does? I thought it did the same thing? Would any of this work? Thanks, in advance for any help.To do what your saying above would need a dedicated Guide cam with st4 port

Its definitly in the right area you ll need to experiment a bit to find whats ideal for your set up go higher go lower see what gives you the best results.

Im very new to AP myself and all my imaging is unguided and i ve found spending more time polar aligning getting it as spot on as i can has resulted in far less star trailing issues 👍

Good effort that 👍 a lower F number would help with gathering more light and definitely more light frames.

Hi everyone
Been lurking for a bit its about time i said Hi.
I ve been having ago at astrophotography for a few months now..... It all started back in the summer after stumbling across a video on Youtube (Astrobiscuits Budget Astrophotography with a DSLR). I was intrigued by whats up there that we cant see fully with the naked eye. So here i am a few hundred quid lighter trying to do this on some sort of budget,it can be done but its not easy.
I already had a DSLR Sony A200 unmodded. I managed to get hold of a Skywatcher ED80 Pro Series(gold tube) relatively cheaply, and then found an old Mizar SP equatorial mount with tripod for a fiver. I bought an eq2 motor (9v) and butchered it a little to fit as the original quartz drive one was impossible to find, with this i can get 30s subs no probs any longer requires spot on PA which has been difficult to achieve.
My issues so far are lack of skills processing the stacked image and i need to get far more light frames when working with 30s unguided.
Recently aquired a modified Canon 450D from a member on here, looking forward to using that.
Images so far:
Not fantastic but a start.
Cheers

Hmmmm what are you attaching the camera to? And while attached to the telescope or lense can you make out any bright stars via the live view on the camera?
