  1. I have a Skywatcher EQ6R Pro mount and I am sure like a lot of you I got pretty fed up with kneeling down to polar align. I know there are work arounds for this but to me they seem too expensive. So I decided to do it myself and save some money. The whole project cost less than £4.00 with spare bits that I never used. I started off with a spare adapter that came with my laser colimator that I never used. I bought a cheap wifi spy camera from TEMU. Link here. https://www.temu.com/uk/1pc-a9-mini-wifi-camera-smart-home-hd-720p-wireless-ip-camera-infrared-night-vision-video-surveillance-security-mini-camcorders-sports-camera-for-hiking-riding-camping-g-601099520500230.html I then cut the top lip off the adapter to give me a slightly better field of view. I used a Dremmel to do this but a hacksaw would work just as well. I then put some tape on the inside to hold the camera steady. Then I place the camera inside the adapter. This is the image I got from my smartphone and this is what it looks like attached. I have yet to try it out for real but the weather has been pants here in the UK. One after thought. If you cut the collar off like I did you get better field of view, but the adapter is a little loose on the scope but it still works fine. If you leave the collar on, it is a much more snug fit but the field of view is slightly less.
  2. Thanks happy-cat. Funnily enough I did see that post and it kinda put me off because that means more clutter to have around. Having the laptop attached to the camera whilst outside is just one more thing to carry, connect and have sat on top of the table on the decking along with all the other stuff. I have purchased a eye piece projection adapter for 12 quid and see how it goes. I will post the images I get and tell you my opinion. I have already fell into the rabbit hole and don't really want to go any further down. However, we will see. Thanks again for your time.
  3. Thanks to happy-kat and Red Dwarf for your quick reply. I get it now and the information you gave does help. I think this may involve raiding the Piggy Bank again but not just yet. I read on here that people have a telescope and kit for observing and a different telescope and kit for astro p. Get the overtime in and keep the missus sweet. Thanks again and stay safe.
  4. Good evening. I have been into this hobby now for a couple of months and I feel as though I could really get into it. I know it will be a steep learning curve that will take years to get the basics of but I will get there. With help from this forum and other online sources, books and trial and error the results should come in. The problem I am having is the planet image I process (Jupiter, Mars) is really small when finished. I have read the post that GUS posted on july 6 2017, and that is the problem I am having. I read all the replies which I found to be in depth but I thought never really answered the question. I also read what Luna-tic posted on November 7 2017 which confused me even more. So, Do I need a eye piece projection Adapter? I have tried increasing the drizzle in Autostackert3 to 1.5x and 3.0x. That works but as you can guess the image is blurry. The equipment I am using is a Celestron Advanved VX8. A Cannon 700D. A 2x and a 3x Barlow. Many thanks for your time. Michael.
