I am the proud owner of a azgti mount. It works fine , but i was wondering:. Could i use both a v4 synscan handset and skysafari via wifi at the same time?.

I own an azgti. With the right firmware you can do some imaging. The thing is i am considering buying a ccd camera. You do need a laptop to operate it , my guess???. I own a pc and a ipad pro, no laptop. What could i do?
Thanks

I own a sw startravel 120 achromat. CA is painful in Bright objects. But nice on DSOs. Its paired with a sw AZ5. Good, stable if you change the stock tripod

If it wasnt for the fuc... moon (forgive me ohh you slaves of the goddess😁😁), weather now is even better. But the glare is too much. Next week rain all days. Damm

Imaging?. Thats not my turf indeed. Seems to me an utterly difficult hobby and too expensive. I am only for visual. This is challengin enough for me🤪🤪🤪

It's around 8°C here with a slight breeze. Very pleasant wearing a t-shirt and a fleece. A good hour's just been spent on the patio observing Mars and Lunar. There's plenty to tease out of an 88% waxing gibbous moon.
Despite the moon and if by some miracle the clouds stay away, the extra darkness later should be good for some nice open clusters around Perseus and Cassiopeia for starters.
The double cluster in perseus, thats really amazing. But not for a mak 127 (narrow fov). I prefer the startravel 120. Those are my two telescopes. Though the open clusters in cassiopea are my favourites. Little jewel boxes. The owl cluster, man, thats nice

Thank you all for your comment. Ihave a bortle 5 sky and i believe i dont need an optical finder so much. (Weight issues aside) .Finding aligment stars is very easy and my knowledge is good enough. The rigel is very light and useful.

hi.the thing is i own a sw azgti mount paired with a mak 127. It came with a basic red dot finder. Do you think an optical finder would be better ? ?.i have a rigel quickfinder. Should i Use it for aligment stars and turn if off?. Or would i need optical finder to find objects further on?. I might add that accuracy seems to very good with the unit i got. My concern of course is the maks narrow fov

I am no handyman at all, and the idea of ruining the mount kills me. Besides i was fortunate to get a good unit, very accurate and reliable with gotos (others had less luck). Better off not pushing my luck. Thanks and sorry for my belated answer

With your solid adaptor can you use the screwdriver, or a steel rule between the adaptor and the edge of the base to "jam" against the base section while turning the adaptor?
Or access the base through the slot in the

Did you have any success????
Sorry. No, no success at all. Tried with a scredriver but it wont give. Thank you very much anyhow

OK,
looking at John’s image it would be appear that the mounting socket is threaded into the base casting.
It looks like the clutch assembly is not holding the base securely enough for the adaptor to be unscrewed...
Is it possible to confirm this by looking into the “gap” between the mount and the adaptor while trying to unscrew the adaptor to see if the “base” is turning with it.
If so, then the design seems to rely on the clutch assembly to hold the base solidly enough to release the adaptor screw.
Bumma!
I cant say i fully understood you (sorry my bad😇) but grasped a bit. Could you please tell me what are my options, in pratical terms ? Other than openning the pandora box🤣🤣?

They should have included an Az axis lock so you could lock it solid when fitting or removing an adaptor.🤔
Removing the circuit boards to gain access to the Az would be easy. However getting all the cables plugged back in and seated correctly might cause problems.
I am already shaking. No way am i going that1😅

Thanks for yor help. The thing is i had the mount atached to the extension pillar and it worked flawlessly. Then i bought the sturdier tripod, wich need adaptor to fit mount.
Opening the mount scares the hell out of me. Clumsy me. Given that i can use it as it this, (it turns) i shall leave it alone.
Thank your for yoir kindness.this community is awsome

I understand it better but it doesn't help.
I was hoping there was a bold head you could get hold of but it looks like the part which threads into the mount is a stud, rather than a bolt. Normally turning either the mount or the adaptor anti-clockwise would unscrew it, unless the clutch is turning with the adaptor.
One thing I did think of; I see you're in Spain, what's the temperature where the mount is at the moment? I'm wondering if the metal has expanded and cooling it may release the mount. Something like putting it in the fridge for a while? If it's around 20-25°C then this probably isn't going to work, but you never know.
Sorry to bother you again. If i try this , i mean if i put in the fridge for a while, do you reckon it could damage any inner part, circuits wifi. ?sorry if i sound too newbie. I mean last week was relly hot here and mount was near window. Who knows?
Synscan app and sky safari plus issue

Hi
I own an azgti mount. I use it along with an ipad pro and sky safary 6 plus. Here is the thing …. I do align the mount with synscan pro app. No issue there, fine. I then connect skysafari with telescope. Fine. But after 30 seconds or so the object i am pointing to drifts out of sight. No tracking at all. Ive been told about synscan app not working in the background on ios devices. I love to use sky safari with my telescope. Observing list are so helpful. But right now iam frustrated. Should i change any setting either in sysncan app or sky safari.
could you please give me a hint on how to work this out
