  1. That'd what I usually do, where abouts do you prefer to have the histogram, 3rd way across or more?
  2. Hello just wondering if anyone here has used an unmodified canon 1300d and what the best iso level for them was, did see a graph about this but didn't contain info on this camera. Thanks for reading.
  3. Yeh that's what i do usually but just remember seeing somewhere that people use an eyepiece and then put the camera on but I'm not assuming it was hog wash maybe haha
  4. That makes alot of sense. Do people actually align with an eyepiece and add camera after? as to me it doesn't sound too practical.
  5. I thought that was the case . I suppose manually returning to a planet wouldn't be too hard after. Thanks for the reply
  6. Just a quick question that's crossed my mind a few times. Is there a way to change balance after I've star aligned and I'm tracking something, say I'm doing planetary and want to change barlows or go from my dslr to smaller guide camera. Wouldn't loosening the clutches and re balancing mess with the alignment? Is there a way to do this as I hear some people align with an eye piece and then add camera after but wouldn't the balance be off then? Thanks guys
  7. Thanks for all the replies, seeing was above average but next time will go for a much faster shutter speed! I do have a zwo mini 120 guide/planetary cam but out of the two I've had better images with the Canon 1300d. Plus it's a pain to find the targets with that camera. Here's a couple taken of saturn and jupiter before with similar set ups.

    Thanks for all the welcomes!
  9. Hello I seem to be struggling to pull any more data of planets. This was 800 iso with about 1/40 shutter speed for about 2 and a half minutes using the helios 200mm with a 2x barlow at f10 and my canon 1300d in planetary mode in backyard eos, 5x zoom. Then about 40 percent of the best frames stacked in as2 and then used wavelets in registax 5, Do I need to up the iso and make the shutter speed as fast as possible? Also pipp seems to struggle processing my saturn avi videos and gets stuck at 64 percent. Any help would be appreciated, planetary seems alot harder than galaxies etc, thanks guys
