Belt mod, must be a different CG-4 drive, I have the motors that connect directly to the worm gear shaft, no spur gears.

How consistent is your guiding over the period of a night, that's very impressive. I to have a cg4 mount. On a good night I get between .58 and .8 RMS. Did you find that multistar made much of a difference  I must get that up and running.

On this night first time with MS guiding it was consistent at around .50     I was using my ST80 as guide scope and piggybacked my DSLR with 135mm lens.

  3. Thanks Brown dwarf and Neutron star,  I have been messing around with the hobby for a few years, mostly from my home Bortle 7-8 sky. Now that I have imaged from a 4 sky I don't want to bother from home anymore. I don't have any real processing skills , this was done in DSS then LR. I only used an old master Bias for calibration. Think I will make some flats today and maybe try some dark flats also. I see no real improvement using darks with the Pentax K50.

  4. Thanks all, this was at my friends in NC . My main target for the night was M31, I checked focus then got 3 hours on it and was vary excited to see what I got. What I got was 62x180s with the mask still on the scope  lol...
