  1. Hi I have the scope on a Star adventurer mount, so hopefully will be able to do some AP with it. Ok so with the barlow + T adaptor I should get good focus on the stars? thanks
  2. It's the Celestron Astromaster 76EQ Ok I need to attach a Barlow to the system? Would I be able to replace the T adaptor I've bought with the one above and place my eyepiece into this extension T adaptor?
  3. Hey all, Having a bit of a struggle attaching a DSLR onto a scope. I want to attach my Canon 550d onto a 76EQ Celestron telescope. I've bought a Canon EOS T ring and a Universal T adaptor 1.25 inch (picture attached) However I cannot attach the above setup to a Celestron Omni eye piece - what else do I need to buy? 😕 If I attach without an eye piece - images are too blurry despite focusing Thanks !
  4. Hello all, I want to attach my Canon 550d DSLR to a 76eq celestron telescope, anyone know the best way for this? Does this just require a T ring? Thanks!
  5. Ah thanks! Can I ask what you do on Darktable to bring out the nebulosity?
  6. Thanks all! Appreciate the help. Yeh this was from my back garden with a very bright road side lamp. I stacked 10 light frames on 45 sec exposures. ISO 800. Not planning to shell out on modding the camera or adding a Ha filter just yet Had a go with the Curves feature on GIMP but didn't get it as good as the above picture. But mainly I'm hoping to capture nebulas/galaxies without just with my dslr and star tracker mount So it looks like I need find a darker place and maybe longer exposure? What are the big impact changes I can make without spending more currently?
  7. the brightest star on the image is Deneb, but can't make out anything of the North American Nebula
  8. Hey all, I just took this pic with a Canon 550d and a star tracker first pic.TIF How do I bring out more details from it? would anyone be able to briefly edit this & show me what can be done? Also any suggestions on free/cheap AP editing software? thanks so much!
  9. Hello, I've just bought a 2nd hand Canon 550d + 50mm F1.8 lens On taking a long exposure picture with the lens lid on - i notice widespread and multiple small red and blue dots, some even white dots I've also noticed some of these fixed dots on live view finder when I'm following a star on 10x zoom Are these just hot pixels? and are they normal to have? haven't taken any astropics yet - but would'nt this affect all my pics (especially when I add on a refractor scope later on) thanks!
  10. Or anyone know where I can get a 3/8" Tripod screw connector?
  11. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Screw-Flash-Light-Camera-Spigot/dp/B073GT6WY2/ref=sr_1_27?dchild=1&keywords=tripod%2Bscrew%2Badapter&qid=1592347153&s=electronics&sr=1-27&th=1 will this work?
  12. what I do know is that the tripod screw adaptor does fit onto the SW mount - if I attached them together without the tripod in between
  13. Hi all! I'm looking for advice on how to connect the SW Star Adventurer mount to a small basic tripod. I have a tripod from my old celestron 76EQ telescope. But the screw from the tripod adapator does not protrude far enough upwards to attach to the star adventurer mount (whose base is flat) - essentially need a longer screw adaptor? Any ideas/cheap solutions? thanks!
  14. Thanks for the replies ! Plan is to get some wide field shots and get used to a DLSR - then later on buy a small refractor telescope
  15. Do I need a tripod or ball head? Or can I just connect the DSLR to the L-bracket dovetail (that's provided in the pro pack)? Also if I get an intervalometer, do I also need shutter release cables? (sorry I'm waiting on the item delivery - so nothing is with me currently)
  16. Hello all! I'm setting up a Star adventurer mount with a Canon 550d DSLR + 50mm F1.8 STM prime lens Any tips and advice on how I can start AP with this setup would be appreciated. What other basic equipment would I need? Shall I get standard shutter release cable or one with an intervalometer? Also how long do my exposure shots need to be, and how many of them? thx!
  17. Hi thx for the reply I can't find that available 2nd hand.. any other suggestions?
  18. Hi all, I'm looking for a DLSR for my beginner AP setup I'll be using a star adventurer mount + Evostar 72ED I'm looking for a used DSLR body on mpb.com, any suggestions? Thanks!
  19. ah ok thx https://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-4000D-Camera-18-55-3-5-5-6/dp/B07B199R4Y/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=canon%2Bdslr&qid=1591135656&s=electronics&sr=1-3&th=1 this not ideal? what DSLR body would you recommend then, I don't want to spend too much on it
  20. Thanks for the replies! So i'll need: SW Star adventurer mount + SW Evostar 72ED OTA + Canon 4000D camera body + field flattener The field flattener is £185 !? - can I do without it initially??
  21. yeah the star adventurer mount + ED72 scope looks like a good shout. What is a DSLR option for this? you just need the DSLR body right? thanks
  22. Hello all, I'm looking to get the SW Star adventurer mount + SW Evostar 72ED OTA Any suggestions on a budget DSLR for this? would I need a body only or a lens as well? thanks!
  23. Hello, I'm just starting out and had a q I'm considering a SW 130PDS - has been popular for a number of years. Is there a consensus on what's the best budget mount for this scope? I know the SW star adventurer is very popular, but it won't take this lvl of payload. So is there any mounts that would go well with this scope - something cheaper than a HEQ5 😛
  24. Hello all! Complete beginner here Looking for any advice on a picking a scope for the SW Star adventurer mount? I'm hoping to get closer pictures of DSO, rather than wide field AP - so therefore thinking a scope + DSLR combination, rather than a lens (which are so expensive!) At what payload does the star adventurer still provide good accurate tracking? is there a budget telescope available for this? (<£300) would i be able to add a 76AZ scope (which i already have) onto this mount? thanks !
