  1. Hi fellow star gazers. I was very lucky to receive my very first telescope yesterday . I am now the proud owner of a Celestron Astro FI 127. Setting up we were able to do the daylight alignment & have installed the Sky Portal App to “auto align” however last night when doing the connect & align process every time on the 3rd bright point the message we get is “alignment failed” ... we tried several times on different stars/planets . Does anyone have any experience of this & can give me some pointers? We have checked and everything seems to be set correctly with the scope and the app, but the app seems to think the moon is in a different location to where it is in the sky (I know we have to align first, but just can’t seem to do it) Note: We have checked date/times which are correct & the GPS position is automatically populated by my device. We tried three different IOS devices just in case with the same result. The scope & eyepiece seem to be aligned correctly, the red dot & object line up ok. Align & connect goes though points one & two ok, but always says “alignment failed” once we have aligned with the third point... it does not give the option to complete.. just goes straight back to start again with point one. We are obviously doing something wrong, so any help, advice or suggestions would be very appreciated. TIA
