Thanks everyone for your ideas. I got it out in the end. I found this guide really helpful so I thought I should share it in case anyone else has the same issue in the future:

The screws on my son's tripod were loosening and now I've rounded the head of the screw and its completely stuck now! I've tried using an elastic band to get more grip on the screw, but it still won't come out. I've also tried pliers and I couldn't grasp the screw. Has anyone else got any ideas on how I can get it out? Thanks, Harry

I've recently got into star gazing and I've joined this forum so I can pick up some tips. Luckily my new house has fields at the back of it and therefore a lot less light pollution compared to the rest of Sheffield. I love looking at everyone's imagery on the forum. There are some really impressive shots. Can anyone recommend an astrophotography class? I'd love to be able to go and use some hi-tech equipment for a day and get my own images. Harry
