  1. Hi there, I have a question about increasing the field of view with a celestron c9.25, with a f6.3 focal reducer. I use the scope for planetary and lunar imaging with mosaics, but would the reducer give me a full lunar disc image with a dmk 41 imaging source camera? I have no idea how to calculate!! Thanks for any advice. Mason.
  2. Thanks, have sent an e mail. My fingers are crossed. Many thanks for letting me know.
  3. Astro buy and sell !!!! sussed it.
  4. Ps, i cant work out what ABS stands for, thought it was astro boot sale! Can someone enlighten me
  5. Thanks for all your advice guys. I have an imaging source 21au618 mono cam for planetary through a c9.25. I also have a lunt LS35. I realise i need a mono cam for H alpha work, but the au612 requires alot of mosaics for full disc. Maybe im a bit lazy and just want no nonsense when i comes to solar work. I also have a skywatcher 80 ed pro, which i use for lunar, and would also like to do full disc images on this too. I think in conclusion, the DMK41 is the cam to go for. I will have a look at the one on ABS. Thanks again.
  6. Thanks for the reply. How about the QHY5L 11 with the 1/3 chip?
  7. Hi there, I have a Lunt 35 h-alpha scope and would like to take full disc images. Can someone advise me on what mono camera would be best for this. What chip size would be best? I have been looking at the QHY5 11 Mono cam with the large chip size. Has anyone had much experience with this cam, as it seems quite cheap. Thanks. Mason.
  8. Have youj checked the scopes collimation?
  9. Fantastic image may i add Freddie, if i can get an image half that good i will be happy!
  10. Thanks bunnygod, i think i will up my game and switch to mono. Ive also looked into winjupos, and it looks like a fantastic piece of software. The shorter capture times was putting me pff, but with this, it doesnt matter Cheers guys.
  11. Ah thanks, i have not heard of winjupos, i will look into it. Thanks for the reply.
  12. Hi there, I know there is alot about one shot colour over mono imaging, but no one seems to take into consideration planet rotation. I currently have a DFK 21 AU04 colour imaging source camera and was thinking of getting the DMK 21 AU618 mono, but with planet rotation, surley the DFK 21 AU618 colour would be better. With mono, you only get say 40 seconds of each rgb channel where a colour will get 4 minutes of uninterupted data. Will this compensate for the time taken changing filters (even with a usb filter wheel) and produce simalar images?
  13. if you use the RGB align button at the final stage of registax, and press estimate, it should take away the blue ting around the planet.
  14. Hi there, Could somebody let me know the process of adding false colour to a white light image. I have seen solar white light images which look yellow / orange, which look much nicer. Thanks in advance.
  15. I thought that was the case. I wasnt sure if i had aligned to the wrong star! Also, if the mount is attached to a permanent pier, and is accurately aligned using a rectical eyepiece, would it still be perfectly aligned say two months later? Thanks for posting the video.
  16. Hi there, Im new to polar aligning and could do with some advice as im at present, alittle confused! First of all, when you have the mount polar aligned with polaris around the circle in the right position, looking through the mounts polar scope, should you be able to see polaris through the telescope eyepiece?
  17. Hi, there, I am thinking of upgrading my focuser on my celestron 9.25 scope with a moonlite focuser. What i would like to know is what do i do with the focus knob which is already on there? Do i need to take that off as having two focusers on there may get a little confusing as i plan to have the moonlight motorised. Would this mess the settings on the motorised focuser up if the original focuser was adjusted? Any advice greatly received. Mason.
  18. Hi there, I am looking for focus upgrade for my celestron 9.25. I would like to get an electric focuser controlled from my pc, but i am unsure what to get. I heard the Baader steel track has had some problems, so could anybody suggest an good focuser upgrade. Be very greatfull for any advice. Mason R.I.P Sir Patrick.
  19. Hi there, can any of you imaging guys help? I have a c 9.25 celestron and have noticed some little scratch marks on the corrector plate. They look like little stone chips. I have no idea how they got there as im very carefull with it. There isnt many and they are not that big. Will they make much of a difference in the performance of the scope for imaging?
  20. Cheers, i will try that. They are not water spots. deffinatley little dinks!

  22. yep its dust bunnies, full of them. cheers guys.
  23. just tested my camera, and its coming from my that! must be broken!! if i shine a light into it, it is full of those circles on the screen! post edited for language, hope you dont mind, nightfisher
  24. only a badder solar filter. the pic has quickly been processed in registax just to get it on here, but you get my drift! have no idea!
