  1. Hello All, I recently purchased the Celestron Starsense Autoalign developed for use with Skywatcher. (I already have one for my 8SE and love it.) I have tested this out at a dark site with my Skywatcher 12" Dob and it worked very well...great pointing accuracy. However, at my home, with lots of obstructions (trees, houses), I have attempted to use the Starsense Manual Align, allowing the user to point the camera to unobstructed areas for alignment. The first time I did this, it worked great, but later I ran into an issue where the hand control froze while I was trying to add an alignment reference. My only option was to turn everything off and start over, because I hadn't saved the alignment I was using. This has since happened a few times. (Yes, I should have saved the alignment!) I read that there is a software update for Starsense that addresses this issue somewhat. On the updates page, there is a diagram that shows how to connect the original Starsense to a computer to do the update, but nothing to show how to do this with Starsense for Skywatcher. The difference being that the new Starsense connects to everthing through an interface box. Is there someone out there who has successfully updated the Starsense for Skywatcher and can give me some guidance on this? I have put in a request to Celestron technical support, but experience tells me that it will be several days before I hear back from them. The manual does not address this, and in fact, is not updated to address specifically the set up for the Skywatcher compatible version, i.e. the interface box, etc. Would appreciate help!
