  1. Just got 10x50 orions. Love them so far
  2. Great write up. Wasnt sure what expect starting out earlier this year. This article spelled out very good.
  3. Well Oregon was a great success. Went closer to the coast than most other people did. Grand Ronde, had clear skies and great view. I'll never forget it, was amazing. Took a couple pics with cell phone and scope. Was crazy feeling it cooling down and going dark like that. Apparantly dogs in area didn't like as they all started barking during totality then went quiet.
  4. you may try eyesonthesky.com they have constellation charts and alot of different videos on telescopes and usage.
  5. A very good post indeed. My first vision of Saturn was just 2 months ago, I was so amazed at what i was seeing. I do have to agree wasnt sure what to expect and it was smaller than i had imagined in my head i suppose. All the same was very amazing and looking at the other example pics gives me good ideas of what i will see while observing other areas. Thank you very much.
  6. i currently just have 4 ep's and 2 came with telescope. I chose to add a televue 8mm and a meade 32mm. And im sure just being at the beginning of this, I'll certainly over time add more. Im still learning what i like best so far with what i have. Havent experienced alot of other ep's yet. Sure i will in time.
  7. Hi all. Just joined. Im fairly new to astronomy. My wife gave me 3 inch reflector for christmas. Prior to that liked to stargaze with binoculars. Since using scope, ive been hooked, but wanted a bit more. Found a used starblast 6" and it is my regular use scope now. Use other occasionally. Im mainly observing, have tried cell phone pic a couple times. Still need practice with that. I have, The Backyard Astronomer and Turn left at Orion for reference material. Have plans made to observe totality of upcoming eclipse in Oregon.
