  1. Hello!

I don't use Stellarium but but transit time is what you are looking for (transit time is when the object crosses the meridian and appears highest in the sky). In Sky Safari for example the info card shows Rises/Transits/Sets.

PS: Just found this which shows how to enable this in Stellarium: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/438568-can-stellarium-display-risetransitset-times/

  2. Oman can be quite good for star gazing although a bit of a drive is required to escape the light pollution. If you are living around Muscat then the mountains (e.g. Jebel shams) are a good option for a weekend trip.

I am not sure if the PDO astronomy club is currently active but I think your best bet is to get in touch with Hilmi at Astronomical Solutions, he will point you in the right direction. Their website is: https://astronomicalsolutions.com/

    All the best,

I'm having fun using the asi462 with AllSkEye and a 7 inch tablet on a gorilla tripod, but the street lights don't go off until 1am and the program although I delay the start has to start before 12am and the battery only lasts 4 hours. So I'll lose an hour of capture as the nights darken, other than that it's excellent software with great strengths.

You could use 'Acquisition Pause' settings to start imaging at 01:00 (you need to show the advanced setting by ticking the box top right). Just set a fixed start time of 22:00 then set 'Acquisition Pause Start Minutes' to equivalent minutes for 22:00 (1320) and  'Acquisition Pause End Minutes' to equivalent minutes of 01:00 (60). This will now start your imaging at 01:00.

  4. Oh and should the installer not work correctly you can register the driver for x64 manually:

    • Open a command prompt with admin priviledges
    • Navigate to the folder the driver dll is in
    • Enter the following command:  "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe" /register /codebase "ASCOM.AAF2.Focuser.dll"
    • This assumes that the RegAsm.exe file is located in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\. If that is not the case you might have to change this to point to the correct location.
    • To deregister the driver you can use a similar command: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe" -u "ASCOM.AAF2.Focuser.dll"

    Hope this helps!

  5. Just stumbled across this and having been through the ordeal of writing  a switch driver from scratch just now I thought I could help out. I've downloaded the source from the github repository and rebuilt the driver for Any CPU. I've also added an Inno installer (quick and dirty, hopefully it will work). The result can be downloaded here:

This might throw up anti virus warning as it is not signed in any way. It is clean but please use at your own risk, I didn't write the code...
