  1. Sorry I meant what do you see when you select the camera in the ASCOM chooser and then click the 'Properties' button. For me this is what I get. The presets dropdown would probably be the most obvious thing you could investigate if you have it:
  2. The ASCOM driver is really just an abstraction of the native camera driver and will use the same libraries. There is obviously something different, probably some setting that is applied differently or maybe there are different version of the native driver being used. Are there any settings that are exposed though the ASCOM setup panel?
  3. A public key system is not very efficient in encryting long messages and usually a hybrid system is used which uses both a public as well as a symetric key. There is a good description here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_cryptosystem
  4. With RSA, text is typically encrypted in blocks and not letter by letter to prevent this.
  5. Hello! I don't use Stellarium but but transit time is what you are looking for (transit time is when the object crosses the meridian and appears highest in the sky). In Sky Safari for example the info card shows Rises/Transits/Sets. Mike PS: Just found this which shows how to enable this in Stellarium: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/438568-can-stellarium-display-risetransitset-times/
  6. Oman can be quite good for star gazing although a bit of a drive is required to escape the light pollution. If you are living around Muscat then the mountains (e.g. Jebel shams) are a good option for a weekend trip. I am not sure if the PDO astronomy club is currently active but I think your best bet is to get in touch with Hilmi at Astronomical Solutions, he will point you in the right direction. Their website is: https://astronomicalsolutions.com/ All the best, Mike
  7. Here is the new link to the 64-bit version: AAF2 64bit Download Folder Disclaimer: I didn't write any of the code, I just recompiled it in 64 bit and added an installer. Use at your own peril nor guarantees or warranties whatsoever 🙂 Mike
  8. Hello! I changed my online storage recently which broke the link. I will try to upload again and post a new link here tomorrow. Mike
  9. Hello! Sorry the Wyze cameras are not supported by AllSkEye, I think they are propriatary to the app that comes with it. At the moment AllSkEye has support for: Starlight Xpress, ZWO ASI, Altair Astro, QHY as well as any camera supported by the ASCOM or INDIGO frameworks. All the best, Mike
  10. You could use 'Acquisition Pause' settings to start imaging at 01:00 (you need to show the advanced setting by ticking the box top right). Just set a fixed start time of 22:00 then set 'Acquisition Pause Start Minutes' to equivalent minutes for 22:00 (1320) and 'Acquisition Pause End Minutes' to equivalent minutes of 01:00 (60). This will now start your imaging at 01:00. Mike
  11. Or maybe go for a travel one. There are some downsides like less stability and no tracking but I find I use mine a lot more because it is easy to transport and quick to setup. I have space for it on most camping trips even if all the family and the dog want to join 🤣
  12. Talked to my wife today about buying a new Tak and she asked how much it was. I said about 5000 Euro and she said, too expensive... But then I said, I will have it for the rest of my life! Just calculate how much that would be per day! Then she said, per day for the rest of your life? Me: Yes! Her: 5000 Euro! Damn she is good at maths....
  13. I think the 'all sky' Mallincam is an analog camera that needs a USB screen grabber to display on a PC. I don't think this one has an ASCOM driver.
  14. Hello! Sorry the Mallincam is not supported by AllSkEye. Kind Regards, Mike
  15. Not sure but this is the direct link to the article from the way back machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20201205120632/http://www.astro-baby.com/astrobaby/help/collimation-guide-newtonian-reflector/
  16. Looks like a great mount for a dual setup. Not cheap at 8000 Euro but probably a nice option for a remote observatory!
  17. Oh and should the installer not work correctly you can register the driver for x64 manually: Open a command prompt with admin priviledges Navigate to the folder the driver dll is in Enter the following command: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe" /register /codebase "ASCOM.AAF2.Focuser.dll" This assumes that the RegAsm.exe file is located in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\. If that is not the case you might have to change this to point to the correct location. To deregister the driver you can use a similar command: "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe" -u "ASCOM.AAF2.Focuser.dll" Hope this helps! Mike
  18. Just stumbled across this and having been through the ordeal of writing a switch driver from scratch just now I thought I could help out. I've downloaded the source from the github repository and rebuilt the driver for Any CPU. I've also added an Inno installer (quick and dirty, hopefully it will work). The result can be downloaded here: https://mpoelzl.exavault.com/share/view/2epu4-f8eqprbm-exdnsvm1 This might throw up anti virus warning as it is not signed in any way. It is clean but please use at your own risk, I didn't write the code...
  19. Hello! Yes you can install INDIGO server on a RPi and then use AllSkEye to connect to it via your network and use it as normal. Kind Regards, Mike
  20. I might be wrong but I think that the Thomas Jacquin all sky software only supports ASI cameras and the RPi hq camera.
  21. If you can, then I would recommend wired. You will need a router to plug in the ethernet cable running to your NUC (or just use your existing router). The laptop can then join the same network either by also being connected to the router by a cable or via wifi.
  22. If the NUC needs 19V you can use a DC step up converter from 12 to 19V (that's what I use). They are fairly cheap.
  23. Just learned something new today! You can actually auto translate youtube subtitles into any language in the video settings, made watching it much more interesting!
