  1. Here's yet another video showing the main gear attaching to the stepper motor gear. Is this wobble 'normal'?
  2. So. I allowed the motor to move without it contacting the gears and it would appear that it's making the noise. Here's another short video.
  3. Here's a link to a video I just shot. I tried adjusting the position of the motor a little but there's not much wiggle room. I have noticed there's some small grub screws on the motor but no idea what they do and won't fiddle with them unless I'm told to. Also, the two grub screws on the small gear attached to the worm screw shaft were quite loose but I've since tightened them.
  4. I've just taken the cover off the RA motor and this is what the gears look like:
  5. I'm going to align each motor as best I can and take a video of it in operation again. Thanks very much for the replies.
  6. I tried that on the DEC motor quickly (I'm tired so didn't spend too long) and it made a very slight improvement but still produced this noise when starting off and coming to a stop.
  7. Thanks for the reply. If only I could find a manual / video on how they should be set. I assume everything should be level at the very least?
  8. Here's a pic of one of the motors and gears. I'm no engineer but it doesn't look right to me. Any advice appreciated!
  9. Thanks guys. I'll have a play tomorrow with it. Every single video I've watched their motors sound lovely!
  10. Hi All, I picked up my EQ3 Pro and ST102 yesterday and have only just put the mount together. Is it normal for both motors to make an awful noise when initially moving (in either direction). I tried reducing the rate from max (9) to 7 and that doesn't help. The RA motor noise is even worse at this speed. Here's a small video (turn up the volume as I recorded it quite low). Cheers Daz
  11. Shame you're not using Windows on it as that's what I'm 99% sure I'll need (as I'm probably going to go down the NINA route which only runs on Windows). The Beelink is on offer on Amazon so tempted...very temped. Which model did you buy?
  12. Hi All, I know we have a search box on the upper right hand side of the page but is it possible to nail down the search results to a particular section of the website. For example, just the for sale section? Cheers Daz
  13. I would certainly be interested in your DIY peltier cooling mod...any pointers?
  14. Thanks for the reply. I should have added that I'm not going for an ED50 but a Startravel 102 on an EQ3 Pro which I'm picking up tomorrow I hope!
  15. Thanks for the reply. I'm not wedded to ZWO it's just that it appears they are used by most people. I'm new to the hobby so welcome any other brands which offer similar quality and functionality and perhaps for less money! Cooled cameras are way out of my price league at the moment, even used models!!!
  16. Thanks for the reply. I was watching Cuiv on one of his YouTube videos where he used it and it looks great.
  17. Hi All, I'm looking at the MeLE Quieter2 running Windows 10 to run my rig outside. Has anyone used one before? Cheers Daz
  18. Thanks for the reply. I want something as physically small as possible and capable of running on 12v as I don't want the hassle of running mains power to the scope, etc.
  19. Hi All, I'm on the lookout for a battery pack to drive an EQ3 Pro mount, ASI camera, Mini PC, and perhaps one or two other items in the future. What rechargeable battery packs would you guys recommend I look at? Cheers Daz
  20. Hi All, Going to be using NINA, Sharpcap on my outdoor rig (when I buy it) which will consist initially of an EQ3 Pro, Startravel 102 scope and an ASI178MC camera. I therefore need a mini pc that can be battery powered which everything can be connected to so I can control it via my main PC over Windows RDP. What would be there minimum specs I should be considering based on all the heavy processing image work would be done by my main PC in the house? Cheers Daz
