1. Thanks guys, The case is interesting so it looks like I can sell the software after all.
2. Hi, I've given up imaging and have purchased licences to quite a bit of software that I won't now be using. Can I sell this software, I'm primarily thinking of Pixinsight? If so, what would I need to do? Thanks
3. APT will always be my capture software, superb software.Photoshop and ImagesPlus with a little Pixinsight for processing.
4. Can I throw ImagesPlus into the ring.....only just got it but I can see it being my go to for image processing. Much easier to learn than Pixinsight which I also have.

5. How do you use this software? If I load a tif file it says it contains color so I have to extract channels.........what next? Anyone have a simple workflow? Thanks guys
6. I have a printout of a standard workflow (LLRGB by Scott Rosen) that I follow for all my processing. I tick or cross (or add steps) in pen as I work through the workflow and at certain steps I save the image with the name showing which steps have been undertaken..........if that makes sense.
7. Thanks IanL, I'll give your suggestions a try and report back. I've calibrated and stacked in PI a number of times but this is the first time I've seen this message.
8. Hi all, I'm trying to create a Master Flat in Pixinsight and have a problem at the ImageCalibration stage. I am using old modifed Canon 1000d data, have created a Master dark and Master Bias but during the ImageCalibration routine for the Master Flat I get a "Warning: No correlation between master dark and target frames (channel 0)." message and therefore I believe that the Master dark is being ignored? Any advice how to remedy this? For the Master Bias I have the calibrate box ticked. For Master Dark I have the calibrate and optimize boxes ticked. Thanks.
9. What a superb tutorial. After a year out of astro imaging I'm looking forward to giving this a go. I'm really a PS man but I have Pixinsight and really need to get to grips with it which I'm sure your tutorial will help with.
10. I'd spend a fiver just to save me wasting a clear night only to find my images ruined by sensor glow......then having to wait another 3 months for the next session.
11. Not sure if the 1100d works the same as my old 1000d but when I used Live View over usb it caused major sensor glow in my images. I had to buy a sperate shutter release cable. Sensor Glow
12. I've sorted it..I'm looking for 2012 DA14 and didn't realise that I had to type that into the filter box as well as the search box. It looks like a neat program this, can't wait to see how it works with my mount for imaging. Thanks for your help! :)
13. Hmmm, I'm struggling with this. Done the setup, solar system, Asteroid, load MPC file etc but I still can't find it. When I search for asteroids it gives me a filter box with 500 options??? Help! I'm doing something silly obviously but I just can't seem to fathom it:(
14. Thanks...I've had a quick look at it and can't find the Astroid in the search. Do I have to download any other databases or should it come with them all when I first install it?
15. Thanks Stephen, I'll download it and have a look. Can it control my HEQ5 pro mount and sync objects?
16. I currently use TheSky6 software and was considering upgrading to TheSkyX. I use the TheSky6 to control my HEQ5 mount when I'm doing any imaging runs but other than that I don't really use it for anything else. Tyhe most important feature I use is being able to slew to an object, get it in the centre of view and sync thereby building up better Goto and tracking capabilities when imaging.....this is really importnat to me. However, I was going to use it to find and track astroid 2012da14 but I understand TheSky6 isn't up to the job and needs updating. Before I spend any money I wondered what you guys think. Would free software like Stellarium do what I need or is there any other/better software that you would recommend? Cheers guys
17. Welcome to SGL, I'm a Sheffielder living in tarn!
18. Sorry for the delay in replying to my own thread It was taken in my back garden which suffers from mild light pollution, the main culprit is a neighbours security light that constantly goes on and off. When I get the chance I'm going to try it again with my non-modded 550d to see if it's the modification that is giving it the warmer tones. Thanks guys
19. I imaged M31 back in 2011 and when I processed it the galaxy was a brown colour. I've recently reprocessed it, stacking in Nebulosity 3 and processing both in Pixinsight and PS and its still brown. I've seen a few recently on the forum where the galaxy arms have been a lovely blue colour but I just can't get that colour in mine. What am I doing wrong? Is it because I used a modded 1000d and CCD CLS clip filter or what? I can Dropbox the calibrated image tomorrow if anyone fancies a go... Thanks
20. Just received my new HEQ5 saddle......obviously going to snow for weeks :(

21. Late wednesday night I placed an order for a ADM Dual Saddle and ADM 7" Losmandy Dovetail bar. Then yesterday morning I decided I also needed a 4" Telrad riser so placed the order for that and paid the £2 delivery charge. Sometime after 9am I received notification of a refund of the £2 delivery charge and confirmation that the order had been processed and would be out for delivery. This morning all 3 items arrived at my office. Little things like the £2 refund make FLO a really special supplier in my mind. It never crossed my mind that I had paid delivery on both orders but FLO still refunded it. Very easy communications and they just do what they say are going to. I sympathise with the staff of the likes of HMV and Blockbusters but large chains and other larger organisations just do not offer the personal service that small indpendants like FLO do. I for one hope that the high street ends up full of smaller retailers as the buying experience is just so much better. Thanks FLO
22. Can't find this on iTunes...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
23. Congratulations Robbie, what a superb opportunity.
