Well the thread has been dead jed so i spiced it up some to get some action back to this thread.

I picked up a CR6 Ahro a while back. For under $300 is the best bang for the buck. I gave up on the SW150ED.

I paid $2400 used for the APM shipping included. It was like 6 weeks old. Had it up to 1000x on the moon and i be darned the image was not bad. Very dim but still looked ok.  The CR6 was local so i had to try it out. It did fine with a 3mm Delite this am on the moon.  But as we all know there is color on many objects. But for 300 smackers it is not bad.

I gave up waiting and got a APM and just got a CR6 this weekend. Not bad for $300. 

We will see how the 6" ed does soon.

He wants to buy a 16" Zambuto. He is also selling a once used 4" Tak.  Soon as i get the scope i am taking it to 400x+ on Mars.

Just bought a APM 6" f/8 that was 6 weeks old.

I was just offered a SW150ED so maybe they are coming back on line.  I passed. Maybe in a few months when the planets are back.

Nice scope. I guess i am not planning to see the SW150ed for a long while the way it looks.

Nice scopes.  So i guess late OCT is out now for the SW150ED?  It could be months the way things are going.

No news over here yet. AT least i got this to play with.

I got a 5" f/12 D&G to hold me over.

Well it is Oct so something should  go down soon.

Cell should be better also. Sometime soon we would all know. I am waiting to buy one once i know they can hold center.

Everything is dead locked as well over here. I think the cell is being reworked.  I don't think SW will pull a Meade like  Meade did with the 7" ED.

So no news?

I'm ready to see more user reports before i buy one next Jan.

I say up the price and slap in a much better cell that can hold center and collimation.  Going cheap is not paying off it seems.

Maybe shipping bumps these scope out of whack.  That was the case with my Meade 7" ED.

Reminds me of the Meade 7" ED nitemare i had back in 1999.  It went back to Meade 4 times and woudldalways come back out of collimation. This was before the cell fix.  I got my money on that load of junk.

Did a local deal on a 120 ED Skywatcher.

I notice you have a finder scope shoe of some type on that Tak.  That gets me to thinking that maybe my Steallar view shoe may work on my FS78.  I will have to try it out.

All of my Taks have been dead sharp and can take 100x per inch in my steady seeing.  I love the little FS78.

Thanks.  Here is a Tak FS-78 i just got.  Had one years ago and will make a great grab and go for the SP mount.  I don't have it mounted right in the pic as this is just a temp way to mount it until i get the right doevtail.
