  1. Hi, lately during my night session when capturing galaxy M51, I recorded tutorial about "Auto Meridian Flip" in SGP PRO. I explain what "Meridian Flip" is, how to set parameters in SGP and mount's controller, how to trigger it and correctly perform. I know, on the YT there are lot of material about SGP but maybe you may find something in my film what you miss in others. English subtitles are available!!!

And this is the result of my nightly hunts: https://moje-nocne-n...irlpool-galaxy/

  2. The weather last week was finally kind. Clear nights happened in the middle of the week, but there was nothing to complain about. By the way, I had the opportunity to test the new TS APO 140/910 (f/6.5) in cooperation with the QHY268M. The photo is of course a crop - in such a frame M51 is the real heroine of the foreground.

  3. Hi, I had a similar problem some time ago. A calculator that very accurately determines the location of a speck of dust from the camera sensor turned out to be very helpful. In the calculator, you enter the specifications of the camera, the telescope and Dust Doughnut or Reflection Shadow Size counted in px (use big magnification in any graphic software to count its size in pixels)

  5. Hi, I just finished a project of a portable power supply for an astrophotography. I like outdoor sessions, so stable and reliable power supply is essential. If you are interested in this topic, I invite you to watch the video on YouTube (English subtitles are available) and I invite you to my blog where I posted even more details. I will be grateful for any comments and remarks

Thats brilliant considering the LP you had.
This is a target I am desperate to get but last couple attempts has been hampered by clouds so not done much in it yet.

Thank you. I was lucky because I could catch a few clear nights in a row. I wish you clear sky!!!

  7. Hi, at the end of August and beginning of September I had a chance to spend some time under night sky. Unfortunately I couldn't went out of  the city so the only option was to take photo from my backyard (close to street lights). Photo on LRGB channels (L 65 x 120s; R 49 x 300s; G 38 x 300s; B 49 x 300s). If you would like to see more detail or better quality of the image please look at my blog: https://moje-nocne-niebo.pl/en/ngc7023-iris-nebula/

  8. I have been thinking about buying an ESATTO 4" Focuser for a long time or maybe even longer :)   … and it happened. As a satisfied owner and user, I prepared Focuser's presentation, the more willingly that there is not much material about it on YT. If you are interested in ESATTO focuser, its technical specification, functionality and what kind of adapters to use to install it, then I hope that my review can be useful.

Clik on the graphic below  or following link https://youtu.be/ImX6eXebtH4 to watch it on YT

    ENGLISH SUBTITLES AVAILABLE

There is a an error in the video, you talk about how you mount had bad RA backlash when you used it the first time, and you show the graph of this from PHD, but the graph you show is DEC backlash and not RA, there is no RA backlash graph in PHD as backlash in RA is not really an issue….so I think you get mixed up as you are adjusting the belt tension in DEC but talking and saying that it’s the RA drive that it’s bad on and then showing the DEC backlash graph, personally I got very confused….🤔🤔

    apart from that very good

You are absolutely right !!! I made mistake in subtitles (already fixed) and in my presentation as well (unfortunately I Cann't change it now). Of course PHD2 measure backlash only in DEC axle! By the way I adjusted belt tension in both axles, but once again -  the problem was in DEC only. Thank you very much for your opinion!

Thanks for your work on the review.

What made you select the EC/NUC version? It's my understanding that you didn't use a NUC, and I am reading complaints about the encoders.

Thank you very much for kind words 😊. The reason why I bought the CEM70EC mount in  NUC option was very simple - only this version was available on the market when I was interested in buying it. I was determined to buy a CEM70 mount with an encoder in  RA axis and that was my priority. I looked in all stores in the EU, but unfortunately the waiting time was about 6 months. I found, if I remember correctly, only 2 such mounts in Great Britain in the NUC version. As the price difference was not very significant, I decided to buy it.

Before buying, I read a lot about these mounts on various internet forums and I know that there were problems with proper operation in PHD2. But I also read on CloudyNights that a recent firmware update solved this problem - and it is! I've updated the firmware of hand controller, the mount itself and all is OK. I do not observe any conflicts between PHD2 and encoder. Guiding is stable and total RMS error as you could see in my video is about 0.27"

  11. Hi, about five weeks ago I got my new CEM70EC-NUC mount from iOptron and after getting some experience I prepared short video review. So, if you are interested in that particular model or similar CEM construction ... if you would like to see how it guide, perform under load and what can be improved ... then I hope my review will be helpfull and interesting. I have done it in Polish language but also english subtitles are available.

If there are errors in the subtitles, I apologize in advance, but in general I hope that everything is OK

  12. I haven't had a chance to use it much and now it's galaxy season I'm using my MN190 on the rare occasions we get the odd hour of clear night sky.  I'm sorry but I'm afraid I have nothing more to add :(  Just hoping the autumn will give us some clear night skies :D

The EQ8 is working fine with the MN190 :)

Hi Gina, I am trying to read all topic but discussion is really huge on 17 pages. I am very interested in this story and especially with your impression and experience. Main reason is that I am going to buy ESPRIT 80 for DSO Astrophotography. Can you share with us fresh info
