I bought a CGE pro tripod and made a home built adapter made from a masonry saw blade and the top plate of an Orion pier extension. The new tripod makes a much more steady mount for my C11. -

I used a Meade 8" f/6.3 wide field SCT and a Sony a77m2 camera. I bought the Meade telescope used on e-bay. I am a little amazed about how good the optics are. I am not sure when Meade made those short focal length scopes but it is not the latest and greatest. -

Taken with a Meade 8" f/6.3 SCT and a Sony a77m2 camera. Approximately 12 short exposures around 15 - 20 seconds stacked using Photomatrix Pro 5. No auto guider. I caught a little meteor fly by on one of the photos.
