  1. I go to Menorca every year (excluding 2020, Covid19 🤬) and some of the views with the naked eye South are amazing once you get away from the resort lights. I’ve sat and enjoyed the Milky Way many a night but the hue from the hotels make a huge difference in what you can see. A 2 min walk can make a huge difference. There is an observatory on Majorca so would assume there’s some pretty dark sky’s there also. Hope this helps

  2. Hi Mic2020, nice scope. I started with a similar one the Celestron 130. I found the Omni plossl’s worked well. One thing to point out is that you might benefit from a wider field of view and a lower power eyepiece might really complement what you have already. Something like the omni 32mm would work really well in observing the larger DSO’s as well as help you find the smaller targets before switching to a lower eyepiece like the 9mm.

    hope this helps

  3. Hello Startinez, from what I can see your scope would be pushing the limits of the EQM35 for visual use let alone astrophotography. The max capacity is 10kg for visual.

As the mount is your foundation my advice would be to go for something more stable like the HEQ5. That way you would not be shelling out for a new mount (too soon anyway).

That said the targets you have on your bucket list are easily achievable with a DSLR on a tracking mount such as the staradventurer and these would both be in your budget.

    hope this helps
