  1. I'm helping Abbot's Hill School in Hertfordshire with the restoration of their Victorian era observatory. The immediate focus is on making the space safe for pupils, followed by installing a small planetarium projector. In the future, they'd like to install a telescope and use it for an astronomy club. They're also open to the idea of making it available to the local community / astronomical societies. This will entail recommissioning the dome, which has been sealed for several years. My call for help is targeted at anyone who has the engineering expertise or contacts who could help with this worthy cause. It'll be a project over several years, so a bit of a 'slow burn'. It would be really great to see it working again and it won't happen without help. Thanks in advance
  2. It’s just to test the scope out. I’ve had it 10-years and never looked though it. I couldn’t find a mount big enough.
  3. A refractor on a wobbly, inappropriately small mount. Not unlike the 60mm scope I used to look at Venus in the 70s. Only a shade bigger.
