Just read your post and like yourself was interest in astronomy at an early age but never really got into it until in later in my life when I had the time and money to go buy my first real scope. Which was the celestron 130 eq again like yourself thought I had bought the wrong scope to start with until I took a bit of time to get to understand it. Agreed with you that the 22mm EP is really good use it the most of all and the 10mm EP is as you said disappointing just dont seem to be able to get a good clear view with it. Having now viewed a good few objects in the sky Jupiter every time I go out and finally found Orion Nebula M42 it as really got me excited for astronomy and its was so good to read your post many thanks. Do find that using my kindle and stellarium mobile sky is a great help in finding my way around the sky . Never thought about taking the binoculars out with me
