  1. I dont have a scope yet! I travel quite a bit with work so was looking for the most compact option so I can take it with me. But yes a scope would be the best option. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for saving me £300+ as airshows are also on list, dud you find any alternatives? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi All, I am looking for a lens to go with my 600d primarily for moon shots, I have found 2 lenses that kind of fit my budget and was wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these or has their own suggestion. 1. Sigma 70 - 300 2. Sigma 120 - 400 Thanks in advance Darren Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Mike you will love the arctic circle (if you haven't already been) seen the lights in Iceland a few years back. I have got the book by Steve Richards along with a few others! Great reads and full of info. Hi Lee yes I've already come to the conclusion this is the right place, great advice by friendly people ( no inner circle / click like other non astro forum's) I have just treated myself to a Canon 600d for general use whilst travelling (extensivley) with work. Ive read good and bad reviews with this model for astro but being a past owner of a canon slr I had no hesitation in taking risk! I just need a good 'travel' tripod and zoom lens with maybe a tele converter, still trawling posts at the min to see what the preferences are for moon shots ect.... Again thanks to all for the very warm welcome, think I'm gonna like it here Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Sorry Mike no wand! I have downloaded Stellarium and it is very useful, any tips on where to go to escape the excess light pollution of our great town? Or do you get on just fine? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the warm welcome and tips, can anyone recommend a lens for moon shots? from the threads I've read and the stunning pics I have seen I realise the moon is towards the bottom of the ladder, but as good a place to start and my current obsession Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  8. Again at the moment ive just the standard kit lens! Gonna have to look through pics and posts work out what to by, but thats what its all about, and the practice of course Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  9. Excuse my ignorance I am a complete beginner with AP, I dont currently have a telescope, yet anyway! I was just go8ng to start with a few moon shots ect... and pick everyone's brains before buying the scope Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Hello All, Just thought I would stop by and say Hi. I am new to Astronomy and although I have always been interested I've never really found the time! However the last series of Stargazing Live has pushed me over to the dark side, literally. My intension is do some astrophotography after seeing some of the fantastic pics that can be achieved. I have done alot of research over the past few weeks and every google search I did led me to this site, so I thought it was only fair to join and try and suck up some more the members extensive knowledge and experience, and hopefully some day be in a position to give some back! Darren
