  1. I started with the SW130 with no goto and no P.... and it is still used, now have a solar filter and RA on it. i love the portability of it as its not too heavy, learn't an awful lot have seen many good images through it too. i know 2 people that have used them as a first scope and there just as pleased. there are limits but for the price i think its worth it.

There are plenty of people here with good info, poss one of the best sites to use

thanks.. hoping to get out Saturday night and test it out... weather permitting.

  2. Hi..........its your first scope, so its always a good start........nobody on here should down what a new comer (im assuming) has brought, cos at the end of the day its always a good start. Its not a bad scope, ive a friend that's got the mak version go to..........think its slightly bigger apature, and it does a good job. You will def be able to see the likes of saturns rings, and casini division, its moon titan. Jupiters belts and 4 main moons....easy. Brighter galaxys, globular clusters, open clusters, all easy targets.  The list goes on........... The down side is the finderscope doesn't look that great, but I guess if you align ok then the go to will do the rest. Im not familiar with how the scope tracks, or at all, so I cant advise............go out and have fun!

many thanks .. yes im very new and at the mo I don't really have a clue...but I gotta start somewhere.. looking forward to getting going.
