  1. Where just looking at a5100 to replace my now worn out Nex-5R (+50.000 subs since 2012), so this was disappointing info. Nearly the same as with the definable telescope friendly Sony ILCE-QX1, that among others features lack a Bulb setting. Since it is a scaled down Nex-5T, why not have the same functions? Whats left in getting small "cheap" astro cameras, it is to hope for Olympus new opensourced Air A01. It is 3/4 sensor, well, that's comparable when looking at SBIG and the others sensor sizes. As open sourced, one can only hope for an app writer to make a time-laps astro app, supporting bulb takes. Lars

Astro objects from ~56 deg North

Some DSS/Registax stacked photos taken within a small costal town at the Swedish Southeastern Baltic coast, ~56 N. View area; south to zenit, 160 deg E->W. Most pictures taken on an Sky-Watcher Az GOTO, with a Sony Nex-5R (Sony timelap camera app), a 1980 Takumar 400 mm SD at 30 sec exposure and f-8. App gives options 30, 60, 90,120,150, 180 in each serie. Also using a 5"/127 mm Maksutov and a Bresser 900/70 mm achro refractor.

    M27 Dumbbell

From the album: Astro objects from ~56 deg North

M27, some 50 shots, taken with a 5"/127 mm Maksutov. M27 is an hard object, background not responding well, when taking out its colors.

    M57

From the album: Astro objects from ~56 deg North

A 35 picture stack of M57 with a 5"/127 mm Maksutov. DSS gave a run for my money, As with M27, M57 seems to be hard to get into color. Note, if you feel my colors is off, it very well can be so, since I am partial colorblind. I'll never going to get these picture right balanced ;-)

    M45 Pleiades

From the album: Astro objects from ~56 deg North

M45, Aug 31, a batch of 150 shots. Unfortunately, since using a 400mm tele lens, Pleiades strong stars do not match completely with the aperture blades, killing the picture some. The veils of the nebula is also lacking, likely to lens being so old.
