  1. I am looking at these two trackers to use with my Nikon D5300 DSLR, and eventually a Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED DS-Pro OTA and/or Sky-Watcher Skymax 127 OTA with guide scope. Pros: AZ-GTI with EQ wedge Goto Star Adventurer Polar Scope I think apart from this they have the same features and are equally as capable? If I can plate solve with a DSLR then I think the AZ-GTI is the one? Can I, and what else should I consider? EDIT: I have just discovered this Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 PMC-Eight Equatorial Mount, it's not that much more, and it says the payload is 6.8kg for AP, interesting.
  2. It's ok the az-gti mount has firmware to use as eq with an eq wedge. I'll look for those brands, there are so many obscure Chinese ones out there to sift through. Thanks.
  3. I just found an article saying that USB 2.0 has better range than 3.0, what did you guys use?
  4. I would like to use my PC to connect to my AP mount(yet to purchase), I was wondering if there would be an issue with length. I have a 10m ethernet cable, and can get a 10m USB cable with signal amplification. The mounts I'm looking at are the Skywatcher AZ-GTI and Star Adventurer. Brian.
  5. I've been planning on getting the Star Adventurer for some time now but have just discovered the Sky-Watcher AZ GTi WiFi mount which has similar specs. I have a Nikon D5300 DSLR and plan to get a Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED DS-Pro OTA in the future, and maybe also a dedicated AP camera. They both have a payload of 5kg, both have EQ capability, and both are about the same price. The AZ GTi has the advantage of GOTO and from what I can see on forums is good for Astrophotography(my main requirement). Being 100% new to astrophotography and quite new to astronomy I can't see much difference apart from the GOTO feature. Which is why I need more knowledgeable people to point me in the right direction before I buy. Thanks.
