    Hi Michael

    I had to use my partners computer as it had a serial port on it. Then I had no trouble updating my hand set. The problem seems to be the serial to usb cable.

      When I updated the firmware on my synscan handset the serial to usb cable would not do it. So I used a computer with a serial port then I could plug the cable for the hand set directly into a computer and update the handset.
